Atomic Bomb Thesis Statement

The U.S. was justified in dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because Truman needed to end the war early to prevent a land invasion; thus saving American lives, he also needed to prove that the Manhattan Project was not a wast of money, and avenging the attack on Pearl Harbor and the atrocities in Manchuria thrust America to the forefront as a Super Power.




In the Summer of 1945, President Harry Truman gave the order to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Assuming the bombing would end the war and to save the life of American soldiers as well as Japanese soldiers. A war on land would cost many more human lives then the number of those lost in the explosion of both atomic bombs.
